Training in IDPA, Self Defense, & Pistol Marksmanship
Hollow Point Defensive Shooters was founded by SSG Bobby Hughes (US Army) in early 2011. With a passion for firearms and under oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America, while on temporary assignment to the state of Wisconsin, he wanted to create a non-profit organization for the local community to come together and form a team that would stand strong even after his temporary assignment in Wisconsin ends. SSG Hughes is a professional in the Army firearms community and holds Expert Marksmanship Badges in Rifle, Carbine, and Pistol. He has spent many hours in defensive training and is a Level 2 Modern Army Combatives Instructor. “As a leader in the Army we train our subordinates to become experts in their fields and ready them to take our positions. My goal is to organize and train the “people” to take over and continue training after I leave.”
Bobby's time in Wisconsin came to an end in the fall of 2014 when he moved out of state but he can be followed on YouTube where he publishes videos on gunsmithing and prepping.
We base our training within the rules and regulations of IDPA to allow our shooters the opportunity to be competitive within the sport of defensive pistol shooting. In addition to IDPA training we also train in ground fighting and law enforcement tactics. The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide.
The future of HPDS will be established by its members and the community. Our goal is to educate citizens in home and self defense as well as prepare for the use of concealed carry and home defense firearms in the event of a National Emergency.

"Our founders gave us the framework to maintain our liberties, but it
takes vigilance, hard work and involvement and I’m afraid the majority
of American people have grown too complacent to care. Much of the hard
work involves re-educating ourselves and others..."
